Job Overview: The WASH Officer plays a crucial role in implementing the delegated WASH project portfolio within the Bekaa area. This position is responsible for ensuring the proper delivery of WASH services, achieving high-quality results, and adhering to applicable laws, standards, practices, policies, and procedures. The WASH Officer will work closely with the WASH CSP Team Leader to monitor and report on WASH activities, ensuring compliance with NRC standards. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying and suggesting improvements to enhance the quality of WASH activities based on field observations and stakeholder feedback. The WASH Officer will also engage with beneficiaries and stakeholders to provide information and consultation regarding the implementation of NRC's WASH projects.
Duties and Responsibilities: The WASH Officer's duties include adhering to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines; assisting in the preparation, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of WASH activities; and ensuring compliance with project plans and NRC standards. The officer will suggest new methods and approaches to improve activity quality based on needs and observations. Responsibilities also include socializing and communicating with stakeholders and beneficiaries, providing feedback to improve implementation, and mainstreaming protection in daily program activities. The officer will support the development of tailored solutions for various intervention areas, conduct regular site visits, report on progress and quality of works, follow up on contractor activities, contribute to tender documentation, and maintain regular communication and reporting on project activities to the WASH CSP Team Leader and WASH Project Manager.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Architecture, with a Master's degree being a plus. A minimum of 2 years of experience working on WASH projects within a humanitarian or recovery context is required. Previous experience in development projects related to rehabilitation, WASH infrastructure, and community projects is also essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong behavioral competencies, including managing resources and achieving results, working effectively with diverse groups, coping with cultural differences, and communicating with impact and respect.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture. A Master's degree in a related field is considered an advantage, as it may provide additional knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
Experience: The WASH Officer position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working on WASH projects, particularly in humanitarian or recovery contexts.
