Job Overview: The (Senior) Cloud security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Engineer position at the EIB is a full-time role based in Luxembourg, requiring regular office presence. This position is situated within the Group Corporate Services Directorate, specifically in the Group Digital Office's Cybersecurity Division. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing the bank's cybersecurity posture, particularly in cloud and hybrid environments. The role demands a proactive approach to developing and implementing security architectures that align with the EIB's digital transformation strategy. The engineer will work closely with IT security professionals, enterprise architects, and cloud experts to ensure that security measures are seamlessly integrated into all IT systems. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the (Senior) Cloud Security Engineer include:
Collaborating with IT security teams, architects, and cloud experts to develop secure cloud and hybrid environments, preparing cutting-edge security architectures.
Utilizing cloud-native tools such as AWS Shield and Azure Firewall to protect cloud environments and guide third-party security integrations.
Defining and implementing security standards in partnership with Cloud Operations and Cloud Center of Excellence teams, ensuring effective application across cloud environments.
Creating detailed documentation and diagrams for security architectures and operational processes, developing comprehensive security documentation.
Providing cybersecurity solutions to support engineering teams, enhancing the security of the EIB's IT environment.
Aligning security measures with business needs and risk appetite while building strong business relationships.
Advising on cybersecurity management and guiding the cybersecurity strategy to align with organizational goals.
Monitoring and responding to security incidents in cloud environments, ensuring swift detection and response. 1
Assisting in organizing response and recovery during incidents as part of incident response efforts, ensuring business continuity.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree (minimum equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in risk management, IT, or information management. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in IT security implementation or operations is required. Experience in IT cloud security operations, particularly with public cloud providers such as AWS or Azure, is essential. Candidates should have experience in running major security-related projects and possess knowledge of the ISO/IEC 27000 standard series. Familiarity with security architecture, including cloud environments, endpoint protection, operating systems, strong authentication solutions, and web security is also necessary. Knowledge-sharing skills, including the ability to conduct presentations and workshops, as well as drafting documentation, are important for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a university degree, ideally in a field related to risk management, IT, or information management. This foundational education is crucial for understanding the complexities of cybersecurity and the technical aspects of cloud security.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT security, with a strong emphasis on IT security implementation and operations. Candidates should have a proven track record of success in managing security-related projects and experience in IT cloud security operations, particularly with major public cloud providers such as AWS or Azure.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory, and a good command of French is also required, as both languages are official working languages of the EIB. Knowledge of other EU languages would be considered an advantage. Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
