Job Overview: The Driver position is crucial for the effective transportation of goods, supplies, and personnel within the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely delivery of materials while maintaining the assigned vehicle in optimal condition. This role requires a proactive approach to vehicle maintenance, adherence to safety regulations, and effective communication with supervisors and team members. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the Driver include but are not limited to: transporting goods and personnel as requested by various departments; overseeing the loading and unloading of transported items; delivering and collecting mail and documents; maintaining the assigned vehicle through daily inspections and minor repairs; reporting any vehicle issues to the appropriate personnel; completing daily trip tickets with accurate data; monitoring radio communications; ensuring compliance with safety regulations in case of accidents; and acting as an interpreter for passengers when required. The driver must also be prepared to work overtime and shifts that may extend late into the night, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess completed secondary education and a valid 'B' category driving license. A minimum of two years of experience as a professional driver with a clean driving record is essential. Applicants should have established skills in minor vehicle repairs and basic self-car maintenance, along with the ability to make decisions regarding driving safety. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in email and MS Office, are required. Furthermore, candidates must demonstrate gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Educational Background: The educational requirement for this position is a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). This foundational education is necessary to ensure that candidates possess the basic skills and knowledge required for the role, including literacy and numeracy skills essential for completing documentation and communication tasks.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role as a professional driver. This experience should include a proven track record of safe driving, vehicle maintenance, and familiarity with the local area to ensure efficient transportation services.
