Job Overview: The European AIS Database (EAD) Data and Analytics Expert will play a pivotal role within the Network Management Directorate, specifically in the Operations Division. This position is designed for an individual who can provide expert guidance and contribute to the EAD service's activities through comprehensive data analysis. The expert will be responsible for identifying trends, patterns, and insights that support decision-making processes. The role requires processing, cleansing, and verifying EAD data, including NOTAMs, AIPs, and charts, ensuring data integrity and consistency. The expert will also develop and implement data validation processes to maintain high data quality for analysis, dashboards, and reports. Collaboration with national AIS providers and regulatory bodies is essential to improve operational data exchange. The expert will produce tailored analyses for briefings and reports, document data non-compliances, and contribute to various projects and initiatives. Staying updated on technological developments and sharing knowledge within the organization is also a key expectation of this role.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the EAD Data and Analytics Expert include:
Providing expertise and guidance on EAD service activities through data analysis to identify trends and insights.
Processing, cleansing, and verifying EAD data to ensure integrity and consistency.
Developing and implementing data validation processes for high-quality analysis and reporting.
Collaborating with national AIS providers and regulatory bodies to enhance operational data exchange.
Producing regular and ad hoc analyses for briefings, reports, and dashboards.
Identifying and documenting EAD data non-compliances and initiating corrective measures.
Participating in projects, studies, and meetings to contribute to organizational goals.
Staying informed about technological advancements and sharing best practices within the team.
Performing any other tasks aligned with the job's main purpose.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed university studies of at least 4 years in a relevant domain such as Aeronautical Engineering or Data Science, or 3 years in a relevant domain plus 1 year of professional experience. A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience is required. Certification or training in AIS/AIM or EAD operations is highly desirable. Candidates should have experience in operational aviation data analysis, familiarity with the aviation and air traffic management domain, and knowledge of ICAO Annex 15 and other international aeronautical data standards. Technical writing skills in English, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to quality and teamwork, and the ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a completed university degree of at least 4 years in a relevant field such as Aeronautical Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline. Alternatively, candidates may qualify with 3 years of relevant studies combined with 1 year of professional experience. Internal candidates may refer to the intranet for equivalency checks regarding in-house experience and educational qualifications.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the field of aviation data analysis or a related area. Candidates should have a proven track record of working within the aviation or air traffic management domains, with specific experience in operational data analysis and familiarity with the European AIS Database and associated tools being advantageous.
Languages: Proficiency in English at level C1 is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary working language of the Agency. Candidates are also required to become basic users of French at levels A1/A2 before the end of the probation period. This language requirement is in line with the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Additional Notes: The position is offered as a hybrid work arrangement, combining onsite and remote work, although full-time remote working is not available. The contract duration is set for five years, with the possibility of extension or conversion into an undetermined contract. Candidates must successfully complete a nine-month probationary period.
