Job Overview:
The MHPSS Specialist position is crucial for the Palestine mission, which is part of the Mashriq regional program and currently operates under the Emergency Unit. Following the humanitarian crisis that began on October 7th, 2023, in the Gaza Strip, compounded by escalating violence in the West Bank, HI has initiated emergency Mental Health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) activities within rehabilitation services. The specialist will be responsible for recruiting, training, and providing technical support to the MHPSS team, ensuring the integration of MHPSS into rehabilitation and education programs. The role requires a proactive approach to address the high emergency MHPSS needs in Palestine, focusing on both standalone activities and the quality integration of MHPSS in various programs. The specialist will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of HI's interventions in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The MHPSS Specialist will have four main responsibilities: 1) Expertise: Contribute to regional strategies aligned with global frameworks, provide technical support to projects, ensure technical learning, monitor the quality of activities, and contribute to research and innovation projects. 2) Influence: Enhance the local prestige and influence of HI's expertise in MHPSS. 3) Business Development: Identify and develop major opportunities or new projects in the region. 4) Emergency Preparedness and Response: Support or implement emergency preparedness actions and adapt working modalities during emergencies to ensure effective humanitarian responses.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's level or equivalent) in mental health clinical psychology from a recognized institution. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in MHPSS is required, including at least 2 years in emergency responses within conflict-affected countries. Experience in training evidence-based therapeutic approaches for trauma and mental health issues in emergency contexts is essential, along with experience in conducting multi-sectorial assessments. Excellent communication and writing skills in English are mandatory, and team management experience in stressful environments is preferred.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree, specifically at the Master's level or equivalent, in mental health clinical psychology. This educational foundation is critical for understanding the complexities of mental health issues, particularly in emergency settings.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience in the field of MHPSS, with at least 2 years specifically focused on emergency responses in conflict-affected countries. Additional Notes:
