Job Overview:
The EMC Pillar Lead will spearhead WRI India's Energy Program's fourth pillar, which focuses on Energy Minerals & Circularity (EMC). This role is crucial in promoting responsible strategies for sourcing critical minerals essential for India's clean energy transition. The candidate will lead research initiatives, engage with various stakeholders, and ensure that India's energy transition pathways are sustainable and responsible. The position requires a deep understanding of the current landscape regarding critical minerals and their role in clean technologies, as well as the socio-economic implications of energy transitions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The EMC Pillar Lead will be responsible for leading and conducting research on responsible energy minerals supply, trade and energy transition, resource efficiency, and circularity. The role includes identifying and engaging with partners across national and state agencies, academia, and the private sector to share insights on EMC-related issues. The candidate will stay updated on energy transition trends, participate in dialogues with stakeholders, and mentor the EMC team. Additionally, the lead will develop new research areas, manage project deliverables, and coordinate training and capacity-building activities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with external partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in engineering, energy, science, law, management, economics, or a related field. A minimum of 15 years of relevant full-time work experience in the energy sector is required, with a focus on critical minerals, circularity, trade policy, and resource efficiency. Strong analytical skills, project management experience, and a proven track record of delivering results are essential. Excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities, are necessary for this role.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as engineering, energy, science, law, management, or economics is mandatory for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of energy transitions and the management of critical minerals.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 15 years of full-time work experience in the energy sector, specifically dealing with critical minerals, circularity, trade policy, and resource efficiency. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and deliver impactful results in a complex and dynamic environment.

Languages:
