Job Overview: The SPINCO Energy Officer position is a temporary role within the SPINCO department of MSF International, aimed at enhancing the quality and availability of logistical descriptions for energy-related articles in the organization's database, UniData. The officer will play a crucial role in supporting the clean-up process of these descriptions, ensuring that accurate and comprehensive information is accessible for field missions through front-end tools like UniField. This position is expected to last for six months, starting on June 1, 2025, or earlier if possible. The officer will work closely with various stakeholders, including the SPINCO logistics team, the Referent ITC Logistics, and members of the International Energy working group, to achieve the objectives of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities: The SPINCO Energy Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at improving the descriptions of energy-related articles in UniData. Key responsibilities include familiarizing oneself with existing descriptions and guidelines, reviewing and proposing improvements to valid descriptions, editing draft descriptions, and creating new descriptions for articles lacking them. The officer will prioritize standard articles identified as needing descriptions and collaborate with the Energy working group and ESC specialists on these tasks. Additional responsibilities include uploading datasheets or technical documents to the Logistics Library, contributing to the overall clean-up process of the UniData database, participating in discussions related to the clean-up process, and following up on feedback and data quality checks in UniData. The officer will also be expected to address any outstanding tasks requested by the Spinco Logistical Referent.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the SPINCO Energy Officer position should possess strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail. Proficiency in data management and familiarity with logistical processes are essential. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Educational Background: A relevant educational background is required for the SPINCO Energy Officer position. Additional Notes: The SPINCO Energy Officer position is a fixed-term contract, with the possibility of working at either 100% or 80% capacity. The duration of the contract is set for six months, with a starting date of June 1, 2025, or earlier if feasible. The successful candidate will be offered a compensation and benefits package in line with MSF's practices, which vary depending on the entity establishing the contract. By default, the contract will be offered in the MSF office of the candidate's country of residence at the time of application. This position may involve collaboration with international teams and requires a commitment to MSF's humanitarian mission.
