Job Overview:
In this role, the Senior Data Engineer will serve as the primary domain expert for the data platforms and systems within the IT Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) department. The position involves developing and supporting the data engineering needs of the Enterprise Data solution team, with a focus on enhancing the quality and availability of information to improve search and reporting capabilities. The ideal candidate will be an expert in data management and optimization, particularly within cloud data platforms, and will work collaboratively with a diverse team that includes business partners, analysts, architects, and engineers in an agile delivery environment. The role requires a proactive approach to building and optimizing data systems from the ground up, ensuring that data-driven initiatives are effectively supported.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Data Engineer will lead the development of data pipelines and transformations to extract, load, and transform (ELT) data from various source systems into data platforms for further processing and analysis. Key responsibilities include identifying, designing, and implementing process improvements, such as creating data quality reports and optimizing data delivery. The engineer will collaborate with customers, including data, design, and product teams, to address data-related issues and work with knowledge management, Business Intelligence, Data Infrastructure, and data science teams to enhance data for reporting and insights. Required Qualifications:

Proficiency in data processing tools such as Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, DBT, Snowpark, and Databricks notebook is essential, along with expertise in programming languages like Python, SQL, and Scala. Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases is necessary, as well as experience with Azure cloud data services, Databricks, and Snowflake. A deep understanding of data security practices, access controls, and compliance is crucial, along with experience in implementing CI/CD solutions for data pipelines.
