Job Overview:
The Associate Data and Information Governance Officer (Policies and Forums) will be responsible for designing and maintaining data and information governance policies and frameworks across various domains, including metadata management, data quality, reporting, and information classification. This role is essential for ensuring that the EIB Group adheres to best banking principles (BBP) and maintains high-quality data and information assets for corporate decision-making. The officer will work closely with the Data and Information Solutions Department to drive the EIB Group's information and data management practices, ensuring alignment with relevant policies and frameworks. The position requires regular office presence at the EIB headquarters in Luxembourg and offers a permanent contract at grade 4.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Data and Information Governance Officer include identifying and implementing opportunities for the development of EIB Group data and information policies, principles, processes, monitoring, and solutions. The officer will provide guidance to stakeholders on the applicability of governance policies, particularly in areas such as data glossary, data architecture, data quality, and reporting. Collaboration with other units within the division is crucial to ensure a clear understanding of policies and their implementation in ongoing projects. The officer will also facilitate knowledge exchange among peers through forums and working groups, prepare reports for the Information Governance Steering Committees, and provide training on governance frameworks. Additionally, the officer will contribute to the continuous improvement of the corporate data and reporting governance strategy and participate in special initiatives that extend beyond their immediate domain.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree (minimum equivalent to a Bachelor) in fields such as information technology, information management, business, or finance. A minimum of three years of professional experience in data governance and/or data management activities is required, preferably within the financial services sector and in an international context. Candidates should have a strong understanding of information management regulatory frameworks, data governance best practices, and experience with metrics gathering and reporting. Familiarity with banking standards such as BCBS 239 and knowledge of project management principles in an information management environment are also essential. Experience in managing change processes and knowledge of the EIB Group's purpose and organization will be advantageous.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree, ideally in information technology, information management, business, or finance. This foundational knowledge is critical for understanding the complexities of data governance and information management within the context of the EIB's operations.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in data governance and/or data management activities. This experience should ideally be gained within the financial services sector and in an international context, providing the candidate with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and best practices in data management.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is essential, and a good command of French is also required, as both are official working languages of the EIB. Knowledge of other EU languages would be considered an advantage. Candidates must demonstrate their language proficiency to ensure eligibility for future career development within the organization.
