Job Overview:
The Public intern" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Information Intern will work within the Donor Visibility Unit (DVU) of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). This unit is responsible for enhancing visibility and recognition for all OCHA donors, playing a crucial role in managing relationships with capital donors. The intern will support various tasks related to social media and content creation, contributing to the planning, development, and implementation of social media campaigns. The role requires creativity and an understanding of digital engagement strategies, as well as the ability to analyze social media trends and community growth. The intern will also assist in producing engaging graphics and promotional materials, ensuring that the content aligns with the organization's mission and goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's responsibilities will include supporting social media campaign planning and execution, drafting content for social media engagement related to donor visibility, organizing the clearance and production of social media materials, and conducting research on social media presence and analytics. Additionally, the intern will assist in creating engaging graphics and promotional digital materials, help with image selection and archiving for external users, and perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Unit. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience in public information and donor relations within a global organization.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, candidates must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). A good knowledge of standard MS software applications is required, along with a demonstrated ability to interact successfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. While professional work experience is not mandatory, candidates should have a field of study closely related to the internship role, and their skills should benefit the United Nations during their internship.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in a graduate program or the final year of an undergraduate program. This educational background should be relevant to the internship position, ideally in fields such as communications, public relations, international relations, or a related discipline that aligns with the functions of the Donor Visibility Unit.

Experience:
While prior professional work experience is not required for this internship, candidates should possess relevant academic training or skills that can contribute to the work of the United Nations. This may include experience in social media management, graphic design, or public relations through academic projects or volunteer work.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of any of the official languages of the United Nations (such as French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's application.
