Job Overview:
The Multimedia Design and Communications Consultant will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization's communication efforts by updating and expanding existing multimedia and visual communication materials. This position requires the consultant to develop engaging digital content and publication designs in both Arabic and English, aimed at raising awareness and supporting ongoing campaigns. The consultant will also manage and create content for the IIMP website and social media channels, ensuring that the messaging aligns with the organization's objectives. Additionally, the consultant will provide technical support and guidance to the organization's team regarding the branding toolkit and templates, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in communication efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Update, refine, and expand previously developed multimedia and visual communication materials to ensure they are current and effective.
  • Develop new digital content and publication designs in both Arabic and English to support various awareness-raising campaigns and communication efforts.
  • Manage the content creation for the IIMP website, ensuring that it is engaging and informative.
  • Oversee the organization's social media channels, creating content that resonates with the target audience and promotes the organization's initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the Independent Institution’s team on the developed branding toolkit and templates, ensuring that all materials adhere to the established branding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to coordinate outreach efforts and ensure effective communication strategies are implemented.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
  • A first degree in journalism, international relations, social sciences, or a related field focused on human rights.
  • At least five years of professional experience in communication, outreach, and public information, with a strong emphasis on digital communication, social media, and design development in humanitarian contexts.
  • A minimum of three years of experience specifically working on public information and outreach campaigns in the Arabic language, demonstrating the ability to coordinate with multiple actors, including civil society organizations and international bodies.
  • Substantive experience in working on issues related to the situation in Syria is highly desirable, showcasing an understanding of the complexities involved in humanitarian communication.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a first degree in journalism, international relations, social sciences, or a related field that emphasizes human rights. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has a solid understanding of the principles and practices necessary for effective communication in humanitarian settings.

Experience:
The position requires at least five years of professional experience in communication, outreach, and public information. This experience should include a focus on digital communication, social media, and design development, particularly in contexts related to humanitarian issues and human rights. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of three years of experience working on public information and outreach campaigns in the Arabic language, demonstrating their ability to engage with various stakeholders effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is required for this position. This bilingual proficiency is essential for developing content and communication materials that cater to diverse audiences and for ensuring effective outreach in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this role.
