Job Overview:
The position of Voluntario(a) en Línea involves providing emotional support, psychoeducational counseling, and therapeutic assistance to the Bolivian community through a call center service. Volunteers will work in shifts, contributing 6 to 10 hours per week, with schedules coordinated with a team of professionals. This role is crucial in preventing violence and addressing mental health issues within the population. Volunteers will undergo extensive training on care protocols, including first aid and emotional support, and will receive supervision and guidance from coordinators. Participation in online workshops and training sessions related to mental health and violence prevention is encouraged, and volunteers will receive certificates upon completion of all courses and training, in addition to a Volunteer Certificate.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to callers through the call center service.
  • Attend shifts as scheduled, contributing 6 to 10 hours per week.
  • Participate in extensive training on care protocols, including first aid and emotional support.
  • Engage in online workshops and training sessions offered by UNICEF Bolivia.
  • Maintain a professional and supportive demeanor while assisting callers.
  • Ensure a distraction-free workspace during call sessions.
  • Collaborate with coordinators for supervision and guidance.
  • Complete all required training and certification processes.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to provide emotional support and counseling.
  • Basic understanding of mental health issues and violence prevention.
  • Willingness to participate in training and workshops.
  • Proficiency in using a computer and call center technology.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to UNICEF's mission and values.

Educational Background:
A background in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Relevant training or experience in mental health support or counseling is advantageous. Volunteers should have a basic understanding of emotional support techniques and the ability to engage with diverse populations.

Experience:
Previous experience in counseling, social work, or mental health support is beneficial but not required. Volunteers should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the community they serve. Experience in a call center or customer service environment is a plus.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the service is provided to the Bolivian community. Knowledge of indigenous languages such as Aymara or Quechua is a plus, as it can enhance communication with diverse populations.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position with flexible hours, requiring a commitment of 6 to 10 hours per week. Volunteers will receive training and support throughout their engagement. The role is remote, allowing volunteers to work from home, provided they have the necessary technology and a suitable workspace. Certificates will be awarded upon successful completion of training and volunteer service.
