Job Overview:
The SRH Program Analyst position is critical for the effective implementation of UNFPA's activities in sexual and reproductive health and emergency obstetric care within the Atbara state office. The analyst will provide technical assistance, develop work plans, and foster collaborative relationships with government counterparts, implementing partners, and civil society organizations. This role is essential for addressing emerging issues in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and influencing diverse stakeholders to contribute to UNFPA's mandate. The analyst will work closely with program staff to ensure the completion of the UNFPA work plan, implementation, and reporting, while also overseeing designated states including River Nile, Khartoum, North Kurdufan, West Kurdufan, South Kurdufan, and Abyei. The position requires a commitment to UNFPA's mission and values, as well as the ability to work in a challenging environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The SRH Program Analyst will be responsible for providing quality technical support to UNFPA implementing partners in project planning, implementation, and monitoring of program activities. Key responsibilities include facilitating the work of consultants and experts, establishing cooperative relationships with government counterparts and civil society organizations, and contributing to the achievement of program results focused on emergency obstetric and neonatal care. The analyst will design, plan, implement, and monitor initiatives related to rights-based quality SRH service delivery, including adolescent and youth SRH, family planning, and management of sexual and gender-based violence. Reporting on project progress, implementing effective knowledge management strategies, and supporting the development of national capacities in SRH are also critical duties. The analyst will participate in communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization efforts, ensuring that SRHR issues are integrated into national development plans. Additionally, the analyst will ensure proper emergency preparedness and contingency plans are in place.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related discipline. They should have at least three years of progressively responsible professional experience in sexual and reproductive and maternal health, as well as experience in program/project management, particularly in large multisector projects. Knowledge of the national health system, quality of care, human rights in health services, and culturally sensitive programming is essential. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in program planning, design, monitoring, and evaluation, and have a strong track record of technical leadership and producing high-quality results. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is also required, including the ability to manage spreadsheets and analyze data effectively.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of sexual and reproductive health and rights, as well as the necessary technical knowledge to support program implementation and evaluation.

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the field of sexual and reproductive health and maternal health at the national level. Candidates should have experience in program/project management, including designing and appraising proposals and liaising with relevant project partners. Familiarity with the national health system and models for health service provision is also necessary, along with knowledge of the Minimum Initial Service Package for Reproductive Health.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with stakeholders, partners, and communities involved in sexual and reproductive health initiatives.
