Job Overview:
The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Specialist position is situated within the Public Funding and Financing Branch of the Division for External Relations (DER) at UNFPA in New York City. The incumbent will be responsible for broadening and increasing UNFPA's funding base while maintaining and strengthening partnerships with government donors, including emerging donors. This role requires providing guidance to regional and country offices to meet donor requirements and expectations. The specialist will work as part of the government donor team, employing an integrated and coordinated approach that aligns with UNFPA's overall strategy. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Specialist will be tasked with maintaining and expanding strong relationships with donor representatives in UN missions and capitals to ensure appropriate levels of contribution. Key responsibilities include conducting donor studies to identify funding opportunities, providing strategic guidance on enhancing UNFPA's engagement with government donors, and developing specific fundraising strategies. The specialist will work closely with UNFPA's Representation Offices to position programs effectively and build cases for core and non-core funding aligned with donor priorities. Additional duties involve advising UNFPA colleagues on resource mobilization modalities, assisting country offices in developing Resource Mobilization Plans, negotiating co-financing agreements, preparing briefing notes for senior management, and ensuring proper reflection of donor agreements in internal systems. The specialist will also support visibility and resource mobilization for UNFPA's key funding instruments and perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor and DER management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, Business Administration, Economics, or International Relations. A minimum of seven years of experience at both national and international levels is required, with at least 3-5 years in Resource Mobilization and Public Relations in a managerial or leadership role. Experience in development assistance and donor relations is essential, along with a proven track record in fundraising and management of funding instruments. Familiarity with UNFPA programs and policies, knowledge of international development financing, and excellent negotiation and public speaking skills are also necessary. Field experience is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Political Science, Business Administration, Economics, or International Relations. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of resource mobilization and partnerships in the context of international development and public funding.

Experience:
The position requires a substantial level of experience, specifically a minimum of seven years in relevant roles at both national and international levels. Out of these, 3-5 years must be directly related to Resource Mobilization and Public Relations, ideally in a managerial or leadership capacity. Languages:
