Job Overview: The Communications Professional will play a crucial role in supporting the coordination of a partnership agreement between the UNFPA and the Colombian government. The professional will be responsible for creating communication plans that include digital strategies, audience mapping, and key messaging. They will also engage with various stakeholders, including youth and institutional actors, to ensure effective communication and advocacy efforts. Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Professional will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including:
Developing an executive summary of the communication plan, outlining tone, audiences, and key messages for the partnership agreement.
Proposing a communication protocol that defines criteria and agreements for communication actions related to the agreement.
Designing and implementing a comprehensive communication plan that includes a digital strategy, actor mapping, and media plans.
Supporting technical discussions with contracted companies to develop a graphic identity for the agreement.
Creating communication strategies for the National Youth Assembly, including pre-event, during, and post-event activities.
Producing visibility materials for the National Youth Assembly, such as participant kits and certificates.
Conducting photo-stories and live streaming of events.
Creating short video reels summarizing key moments and conclusions from events.
Designing infographics and videos that highlight the progress and outcomes of youth participation initiatives. 1
Writing press releases, managing social media content, and updating the website with relevant information. 1
Conducting weekly news monitoring related to youth rights and participation. 1
Participating in necessary meetings and supporting knowledge management activities. 1
Assisting with other communication tasks as directed by the Communications Advisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Social Communication, with a postgraduate degree in Communication or Social Sciences being desirable. Additionally, candidates should have at least six years of relevant work experience in designing and developing strategic communication plans for governmental or international entities. Experience in developing communication strategies focused on youth participation, human rights, or gender perspectives is also required. Strong skills in communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement are essential for this role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Communication, Social Sciences, or a related discipline. A postgraduate degree in Communication or Social Sciences is highly desirable, as it demonstrates advanced knowledge and expertise in the field. Additional Notes: The position is based in Bogota, Colombia, and may require occasional travel to other cities or municipalities within the country, as well as potentially to international locations. The professional will work under the supervision of the Youth and Adolescence Advisor and will be part of the Advocacy and Communications Area.
