Job Overview:
The GBViE Analyst is responsible for coordinating and monitoring Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response interventions in disaster-affected areas, particularly in Region V (Bicol) of the Philippines. This position involves maintaining collaborative relationships with national and local government entities, non-government organizations, civil society, and other UN agencies. The Analyst will support the GBV programme of UNFPA's Humanitarian Response and provide technical guidance to implementing partners. The role requires undertaking humanitarian programme-related assignments in priority sites of the UNFPA 9th Country Programme (CP9) as necessary. The Analyst will work under the supervision of the International Humanitarian Nexus Coordinator and the Assistant Representative, ensuring the continuity of life-saving GBV prevention and response services in the aftermath of recent typhoons and other emergencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The GBViE Analyst will be responsible for providing GBV-related programmatic support and quality assurance for ongoing UNFPA humanitarian responses. Key responsibilities include conducting rapid assessments of GBV needs, analyzing data to inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design, representing UNFPA in inter-agency meetings, supporting the functionality of GBV coordination mechanisms, and contributing to strategic planning related to Disaster Risk Reduction and Management. The Analyst will also assist in the formulation and implementation of GBV-related projects, ensure adherence to international technical standards, coordinate the distribution of GBViE-related supplies, monitor implementation activities, and prepare reports for donors and oversight agencies. Additionally, the Analyst will document lessons learned and challenges in GBV programme implementation and contribute to the development of situation reports and progress reports.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in social work, public health, gender, law, human rights, international relations, or other related social science disciplines. Experience addressing GBV at national or sub-national levels is desirable, particularly in humanitarian contexts. Experience providing direct support to GBV survivors is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to UNFPA's values and core competencies, including integrity, accountability, and teamwork.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in relevant fields such as social work, public health, gender studies, law, human rights, international relations, or other related social sciences is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of GBV issues and to effectively contribute to the organization's mission.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have experience addressing GBV at the national and/or sub-national levels, particularly in humanitarian contexts. Experience providing direct support to GBV survivors is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of GBV issues and the ability to work effectively in challenging environments, particularly in disaster-affected areas.

Languages:
Proficiency in Filipino and English is required for this position. Knowledge of local languages in the Bicol Region is considered an asset, as it can enhance communication and engagement with affected communities.

This is a full-time, temporary position with an initial duration of 6 months, subject to renewal based on the availability of funds. The position is non-rotational and is open only to nationals of the Philippines.
