Job Overview: The Reviser will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of translations produced by the English Translation Section. Duties and Responsibilities: The Reviser will be responsible for the following duties: revising translations across various subjects, translating texts while adhering to workload standards, utilizing CAT tools, drafting and revising summary records, developing new terminology, conducting linguistic research, assisting and counseling translators, participating in terminology standard-setting, meeting document production deadlines, acting as a Programming Officer when required, collecting and analyzing data to identify trends, and performing other related duties as necessary. The role requires a commitment to high standards of accuracy and consistency, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a first-level degree from a university or institution of equivalent status. Additionally, they must have passed the relevant combined United Nations Language Competitive Examination for English Translators or a similar examination held before 201

Educational Background: A first-level degree from a recognized university or institution is required for this position. This educational background should provide a solid foundation in language skills, translation techniques, and an understanding of the subjects dealt with by the United Nations.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of five years of experience in translation, editing, self-revision, or related fields. Out of this experience, three years in a multilingual setting is desirable. Experience within the United Nations Common System or similar international organizations is also preferred, particularly in translation and précis-writing. Familiarity with CAT tools and experience in data analytics are considered advantageous.
Languages: A perfect command of English is mandatory, as it is the candidate's main language. Additionally, candidates must have excellent knowledge of two other official languages of the United Nations, which will be assessed through the relevant language competitive examination.
