Job Overview: The Regional IM Specialist will play a crucial role in the Danish Refugee Council's efforts to manage and analyze information related to displacement predictions and protection information monitoring across the Asia-Europe and Middle East and North Africa Regional Offices. This position requires a proactive approach to collecting, analyzing, and disseminating relevant data to support decision-making processes within the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure that accurate and timely information is available, thereby enhancing the organization's capacity to protect vulnerable populations and respond effectively to displacement crises. The role involves developing and maintaining displacement prediction models, conducting data analysis, and producing reports that inform the organization's strategies and interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Regional IM Specialist include:
Developing and maintaining displacement prediction models using relevant tools and techniques.
Monitoring the utilization of community feedback mechanisms to ensure beneficiary participation, accountability, and responsiveness.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Regional IM Specialist position include:
Proficiency in a programming language, specifically R or Python.
Mandatory experience in developing predictive models.
Desirable experience with forecasting/prediction models using R or Python.
A minimum of three years of experience in information management, data management, statistics, or a related field.
Knowledge of establishing and maintaining Information Management or Data Management Systems.
Experience working in humanitarian contexts, particularly in Asia and/or the Middle East, is a plus.
Demonstrated experience with electronic data collection procedures and solutions such as ODK, Kobo, Qualtrics, ONA, SurveyCTO, etc.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field. Additionally, certification or successful completion of a relevant data analytics course in R or Python is necessary to ensure the candidate possesses the technical skills required for the role.
Experience: Candidates should have at least three years of relevant experience in information management, data management, statistics, or a related field. Experience in developing predictive models and working in humanitarian contexts, particularly in Asia and/or the Middle East, is highly desirable. Familiarity with electronic data collection tools and methodologies is also essential for this position.
Languages: The mandatory language requirement for this position is excellent verbal and written proficiency in English. Fluency in Arabic is considered an asset and would enhance the candidate's ability to communicate effectively within the region.

The duty station for this role is Amman, Jordan. The salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals, and the position is classified at the G1 band, which is a non-management level.
