Job Overview: The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position is part of the Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN), a global programme aimed at developing and implementing finance solutions for biodiversity management. The intern will be an integral member of the BIOFIN global team, supporting operational, management, and communication activities. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic international environment, contributing to the development of finance tools and solutions that address biodiversity challenges. The intern will assist in various tasks related to human resources, travel and events, procurement, and organizational policy updates, thereby gaining insights into the operational aspects of a global initiative focused on sustainable development and biodiversity finance.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of tasks including: assisting with Human Resources tasks such as onboarding new team members, maintaining HR lists, and updating organizational charts; supporting travel and event-related activities by preparing invitation letters, financial authorization letters, and cost estimation tables; assisting with procurement tasks including asset management and following up on annual subscriptions; preparing meeting agendas and taking minutes; updating organizational policies and communicating changes to the team; and supporting other ad hoc activities as needed. The intern will work closely with various team members and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the BIOFIN initiative.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (master’s or higher); be in the final year of a first university degree programme (bachelor’s or equivalent); have recently graduated with a university degree and must start the internship within one year of graduation; or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program. Previous related work experience in a national or international entity is an asset, as is experience in management, operations, event organization, and communication activities, including familiarity with social media platforms and spreadsheets.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in a postgraduate degree programme or being in the final year of a bachelor’s degree. Recent graduates are also eligible, provided they start the internship within one year of graduation. The internship is designed to complement the intern’s studies and provide practical experience in a professional setting.
Experience: The level of experience needed for this position includes previous related work experience in a national or international organization, which is considered an asset. Experience in management or operations, event organization, and communication activities is also beneficial. Familiarity with social media platforms and proficiency in using spreadsheets will enhance the intern's ability to perform the required tasks effectively.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, as all application materials must be submitted in English.
