Interns will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research, developing action plans for donor outreach, and collaborating with various teams to provide strategic inputs for briefings and talking points. Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct focused research to identify potential new donors, particularly foundations and high-net individuals.
Prepare comprehensive action plans for engaging with identified donors, including outreach strategies and communication plans.
Collaborate with the Partnership & Resource Mobilization Chief to present well-researched action plans for donor engagement.
Conduct research on the professional backgrounds and interests of individuals scheduled to meet with the ECW Director.
Produce qualitative and quantitative reports on donor engagement efforts and outcomes.
Work with the Education, Advocacy, and Communications teams to provide strategic inputs for the Executive Director's briefings.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to support the Executive Office's objectives.
Ensure confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and align with organizational standards.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program or have graduated within the past two years. They should possess excellent organizational communication skills, particularly in handling official correspondence and engaging with colleagues and external stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to build and sustain relationships with multi-cultural teams. Candidates should demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to undergo specialized training to enhance their capabilities. Proficiency in office software, including MS Office suite and Sharepoint, is required. Candidates must also be capable of drafting qualitative and quantitative reports and maintaining confidentiality.
Experience: While prior experience in international development or humanitarian work is not mandatory, any relevant internships, volunteer work, or academic projects that demonstrate a commitment to education and humanitarian efforts will be advantageous. Candidates should exhibit a strong understanding of the challenges faced in crisis-affected areas and a passion for supporting education initiatives.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, encompassing speaking, writing, and reading skills. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly languages relevant to the regions where ECW operates.
Additional Notes: The internship is full-time, requiring 35 hours per week, with flexible working hours established in coordination with the ECW supervisor. Interns will be based in the ECW Secretariat in New York, with potential hybrid working arrangements subject to approval. The internship duration is two months, starting on June 1, and interns may take up to 2.5 days of leave per month. A monthly stipend of USD 1,700 will be provided for interns based in New York, Geneva, and Copenhagen, or 70% of the monthly salary of the GS level 3 step 1 for other duty stations. Selected candidates must provide proof of enrollment in a health/accident plan prior to starting the internship.
