Job Overview: The Field Coordinator serves as the primary representative of Solidarités International in the designated area of action, specifically in Zahle. This role involves adapting SI's strategic objectives to meet the humanitarian needs of the local population and ensuring that programs are implemented effectively with the necessary resources and in accordance with SI's standards. The Field Coordinator is responsible for managing the base's activities autonomously, maintaining effective communication with local authorities, and overseeing security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security management. The position faces challenges such as geographical expansion, increased donor engagement, and staff management, particularly following recent emergency responses. In the initial months, the Field Coordinator will focus on ensuring sound project implementation for existing grants, shifting operational focus towards the Northern Bekaa region, and establishing clear roles and responsibilities within the staff management framework.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as the main representative of SI in the area of action, ensuring effective communication with local authorities and stakeholders.
Manage the base's activities autonomously, ensuring that programming aligns with SI's strategic objectives and humanitarian needs.
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 2 years in a similar role. This experience should include managing projects, staff, and budgets in challenging environments, as well as engaging with local authorities and stakeholders.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Arabic is considered a strong asset. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.
Additional Notes: The position is a short-term contract with a duration of 6 months, starting as soon as possible. The role is full-time and based in Zahle, Lebanon. Compensation includes a gross monthly salary starting from EUR 3080, a monthly per diem of USD 750, and coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. Expatriates will receive an insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations. A system of breaks is implemented, allowing for time off every three months, along with an additional rest day for each month worked.
