Job Overview: The Education Coordinator is responsible for managing and implementing the Education Cannot Wait (ECW) project portfolio, overseeing education staff, and leading the ECW Consortium Management unit. This role involves ensuring that education projects are executed in accordance with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements while maintaining high technical quality. The coordinator will manage both formal and non-formal education initiatives, ensuring that the projects target the most vulnerable populations in need of educational support. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including local authorities and education partners, to enhance project effectiveness and impact. The coordinator will also be responsible for capacity building of project staff and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Education Coordinator will lead the ECW consortium, ensuring effective coordination among partners and timely decision-making. Responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of ECW project activities, conducting field visits to monitor progress, and ensuring quality assurance in non-formal education activities. The coordinator will engage with external education partners, represent the project in relevant meetings, and manage project budgets and resources. Additionally, the coordinator will develop work plans, identify staff capacity needs, and provide coaching and mentorship to education staff. The role also involves gathering and finalizing reporting requirements and ensuring compliance with donor expectations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in education or a related field, along with experience in education project implementation within humanitarian or recovery contexts. Previous experience in a consortium leadership role and working in complex environments is essential. Strong leadership skills, fluency in English (both written and verbal), and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders are required. Knowledge of the local context in regions such as Aden, Lahj, Abyan, Aldhale’e, and Taiz is also important.
