Job Overview:
The Protection from Violence Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the implementation of protection activities in camps where NRC operates. This role involves facilitating coordination among various stakeholders, building the capacity of staff, and ensuring the quality of programs. The coordinator will oversee all protection from violence (PfV) activities, conduct protection risk assessments, monitor budget expenditures, and contribute to the development of strategies and proposals for funding. The position requires a proactive approach to managing project documentation, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and maintaining high technical standards in program delivery. The coordinator will also engage in data management, reporting, and collaboration with other departments to enhance the effectiveness of protection initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Protection from Violence Coordinator include managing and implementing a portfolio of PfV projects, ensuring adherence to proposals and donor requirements, and maintaining high technical quality in implementation. The coordinator will oversee civilian self-protection services, prepare work and expenditure plans, and submit regular qualitative reports. They will recruit and supervise protection project staff, contribute to proposal development for funding, refine data collection and reporting tools, and provide timely updates on developments affecting the protection environment. The coordinator will also participate in coordination forums, manage data systems, conduct technical assessments, and ensure effective implementation of program activities while promoting synergies between PfV and other departments.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, law, humanities, peace and conflict studies, or a relevant field. They should have experience with Civilian Self-Protection (CSP) and community-based protection programming, with at least three years of experience in implementing protection case management in humanitarian settings, particularly in Cox's Bazar and Bashan char. Demonstrable technical expertise in CSP programming, training in protection risk reduction, and experience in data management are essential. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach, are required. Candidates should be positive, solutions-oriented leaders focused on team building and problem-solving.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, law, humanities, peace and conflict studies, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of protection issues in humanitarian contexts and equips candidates with the analytical skills needed for effective program implementation.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in implementing protection case management and community-based protection programs in humanitarian settings. Experience in coordinating or managerial roles within a humanitarian or recovery context is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate technical expertise in the assessment, design, and delivery of relevant CSP programming, as well as experience in training and capacity-building initiatives.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of the Chittagonian language is also beneficial and may enhance communication with local communities and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Cox’s Bazar with a contract duration of 12 months. The role involves approximately 80% travel within the program area. The salary for this position is set at 134,769.00 BDT per month, according to NRC’s salary scale, and includes a comprehensive benefits package such as group insurance for staff and dependents, 24/7 psychosocial assistance, festival bonuses, end-of-service benefits, and various types of leave.
