Job Overview:
The Administrative Government Liaison Technical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting NRC's operations in Iran, particularly in liaising with national-level government authorities. This position involves ensuring adherence to NRC policies and guidelines, preparing status reports, managing documentation, and promoting the rights of refugees and displaced individuals. The assistant will be responsible for developing a recording system for communications, drafting correspondence with stakeholders, and assisting in the translation of documents. The role requires a proactive approach to monitoring media relevant to NRC's work and ensuring timely permissions from government entities, thereby facilitating effective implementation of NRC's activities in the region.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Administrative Government Liaison Technical Assistant include:
  • Ensuring adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines.
  • Implementing the delegated support function portfolio according to the action plan.
  • Preparing and developing status reports as required by management.
  • Ensuring proper filing of documents both physically and electronically and developing file management systems.
  • Promoting and sharing ideas for improvement of the support function.
  • Advocating for the rights of refugees and displaced individuals in line with NRC's advocacy strategy.
  • Identifying and reporting protection needs and gaps, and proposing new methods to assist.
  • Developing a recording system for physical and electronic archives of communications with national-level government authorities.
  • Drafting and submitting communications with national-level stakeholders. 1
  • Assisting with the translation of documents from English to Persian and vice versa. 1
  • Developing administrative tools and applying existing procedures for Government Liaison activities. 1
  • Monitoring national and regional media for developments relevant to NRC's work in Iran. 1
  • Liaising with national-level stakeholders to ensure timely receipt of required permissions. 1
  • Collaborating for NRC participants' needs assessments and interviews.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires the following qualifications:
  • Experience working in an administrative role for at least 2 years is desirable.
  • Previous experience in complex and humanitarian contexts is a plus.
  • Documented results related to the responsibilities of the position.
  • Proficiency in English, both oral and written, is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, is required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related fields is considered an asset for this position. This educational background will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage administrative tasks and support NRC's operations in Iran.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in an administrative role. Experience in humanitarian contexts is highly valued, as it demonstrates the ability to navigate complex environments and understand the unique challenges faced by displaced populations.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, both in oral and written forms. Additionally, the ability to translate documents between English and Persian is essential, as the role involves communication with national-level stakeholders and requires accurate translation of important documents.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is initially for a 3-month probation period, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs. The salary will be determined according to NRC's grade structure, with this position classified as grade
  • The duty station is Tehran, Iran, with some field visits to provinces where NRC operates.
