The organization focuses on various sectors, including Education, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Shelter and Settlements, and Information, Counselling and Legal Assistance. NRC is dedicated to advocating for the rights of displaced individuals and works to enhance humanitarian funding and engagement in the region. The organization also co-leads several technical inter-agency working groups and provides capacity building to humanitarian partners in Iran, aiming to improve the rights of displaced populations.

Job Overview:
The Area Programme Manager, North, will play a crucial role in the implementation of holistic and needs-based programs within NRC's Iran mission. This position requires a strong leader who can effectively represent NRC at coordination forums and foster a collaborative environment among team members. The role holder will be responsible for developing strategies specific to the Area Office, ensuring compliance with donor standards and grant management, and coordinating emergency responses. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to build constructive relationships with external stakeholders. This position is particularly suited for individuals who thrive in complex and volatile contexts and have a passion for humanitarian work.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Area Programme Manager include but are not limited to: providing program support and ensuring technical quality across all initiatives; developing and implementing strategies tailored to the Area Office; ensuring compliance with donor standards and managing grant reporting; developing funding strategies and forecasts; ensuring compliance with contractual commitments and implementing key learnings; coordinating emergency responses; and building the capacity of staff members. The role also involves representing NRC in various coordination forums and advocating for the needs of displaced populations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess senior program management experience in a humanitarian or recovery context, with a proven track record in people management within complex programs. Expertise in recovery and durable solutions is essential, as is familiarity with the context of Iran and its northern provinces. Strong interpersonal, networking, and stakeholder management skills are required, along with the ability to navigate through insecure environments. Candidates should also demonstrate a commitment to fostering a collaborative work culture and empowering team members.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required for this position, typically including a degree in a field related to humanitarian work, social sciences, or international development. Advanced degrees may be preferred, depending on the specific requirements of the role and the organization.

Experience:
The position requires significant experience in program management, particularly within humanitarian or recovery settings. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage complex programs and lead teams effectively in challenging environments. Experience working in Iran or similar contexts will be highly advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Farsi, both written and verbal, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the populations served by NRC.
