Job Overview:
The Regional Coordination Analyst will play a crucial role in the implementation of the SWAPNO (Strengthening Women's Ability for Productive New Opportunities) project, which aims to empower economically disadvantaged women in Bangladesh. This position involves supervising field monitoring assistants and ensuring effective communication with local government officials and stakeholders. The analyst will be responsible for planning and facilitating training sessions, maintaining district accounts, and supporting technical staff in executing project activities. The role requires a proactive approach to fostering partnerships with local businesses and ensuring the successful placement of women in employment opportunities. The analyst will also contribute to the project's goals of enhancing women's employability and financial inclusion while addressing the challenges posed by climate change and disasters.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise field monitoring assistants and district-level staff to ensure effective project implementation in the Rangpur, Bagerhat, Jamalpur, and Cumilla regions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with government officials and elected representatives at the district and Upazila levels.
  • Ensure the execution of planned and emergency interventions efficiently.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly progress and financial reports.
  • Plan and facilitate training sessions to ensure quality delivery of project activities.
  • Collaborate with local business chambers to secure apprenticeship and employment opportunities for beneficiaries.
  • Support technical staff in planning and implementing project activities.
  • Jointly maintain district accounts with field monitoring assistants.
  • Guide and monitor the work of NGO field workers and organizations contracted for training in micro-enterprise skills. 1
  • Identify and utilize best practices to enhance the development of beneficiaries. 1
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned areas, combined with two years of relevant work experience, will be considered. A motorcycle-driving license is required. Desired skills include experience in social protection, rural development, gender mainstreaming, and poverty alleviation, as well as familiarity with government structures and NGOs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based management systems is also essential.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development, or a related field is required. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in these areas must have at least two years of relevant work experience to be considered. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively contribute to the project's objectives.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in rural development, poverty alleviation, and government issues for candidates with a bachelor's degree. Those with a master's degree are not required to have prior professional experience. Experience in coordinating program implementation, managing teams, and working with local communities is highly desirable. Familiarity with digital tools for mobilizing and facilitating social protection and enterprise support is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bengali is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and involves working closely with various stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and local businesses. The role may require travel within the designated regions to oversee project implementation and engage with beneficiaries.
