Job Overview:
The position of Online Volunteer is designed to assist the UNDP-IRQ Environment, Energy, and Climate Change team in finalizing a significant project on Climate Investment. The primary objective is to produce a well-communicated document that effectively promotes and advocates for the critical issue of Climate Change in Iraq. The task involves designing a comprehensive document of 180 pages in both English and Arabic, ensuring that it is visually appealing and ready for printing and distribution. The Online Volunteer will work closely with the communications team to ensure that the document meets high standards of quality and clarity, thereby enhancing the overall impact of the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will be responsible for several key tasks, including:

• Designing and formatting a high-quality document that features a clean, professional, and engaging layout.
• Ensuring consistency in branding, typography, color schemes, and overall visual style throughout the document.
• Enhancing the readability and impact of the document by structuring and presenting information clearly.
• Collaborating closely with the content team to ensure that all information is accurately represented and effectively communicated.
• Optimizing the document for both digital and print distribution, ensuring that it meets all necessary specifications.
• Revising designs based on feedback from the team to ensure the final document aligns with the project’s goals and expectations.
• Preparing the document in both Arabic and English, which includes incorporating charts, graphs, and references as needed.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong background in graphic design, with proficiency in design software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or similar tools. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, as the document will be produced in both languages. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of branding and visual communication principles are essential. The candidate should also be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and be open to receiving and implementing feedback.

Educational Background:
Candidates should ideally have a degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field. Relevant coursework or certifications in design software and document layout will be advantageous. Experience in producing bilingual documents is a plus, as the role requires fluency in both English and Arabic.

Experience:
While prior experience in a similar role is beneficial, it is not strictly required. However, candidates should demonstrate a portfolio of previous design work that showcases their skills and capabilities in document design and layout. Experience working with international organizations or on projects related to climate change or environmental issues will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as the document will be created in both languages. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered a plus, but it is not a requirement for this role.

Additional Notes:
This is a volunteer position, and as such, it may not offer financial compensation. However, the Online Volunteer will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working with a prestigious international organization and will be able to build connections with the UNDP team. The role is flexible and can be performed remotely, allowing for a work schedule that accommodates the volunteer's availability. The project duration and specific deadlines will be communicated upon selection.
