Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the work of the NGO Branch. These include reviewing applications for consultative status submitted by NGOs, communicating with these organizations regarding their applications, and ensuring compliance with ECOSOC Resolution 1996/3
Interns will also conduct internet research to gather background information and materials necessary for reports and studies. Additionally, they will assist in providing secretariat services during Committee sessions, which involves taking notes during meetings and reviewing relevant documentation. Interns will support the preparations for consultations with NGOs and facilitate their participation in UN activities. Other duties may be assigned as needed, providing a well-rounded experience in the workings of the UN.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet specific educational requirements. They should either be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent) or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
