Job Overview:
The Logistics Officer position is crucial for supporting the day-to-day implementation of support functions within NRC. The role involves managing procurement activities, ensuring compliance with NRC and donor policies, and assisting colleagues in procurement preparations. The Logistics Officer is responsible for fleet and generator management, ensuring timely maintenance and proper documentation of vehicles. Additionally, the officer oversees warehouse management, ensuring accurate documentation and coordination of goods reception and dispatch. Asset and inventory management is also a key responsibility, requiring proper recording and updating of asset registers. The Logistics Officer will provide support for various field office activities and maintain effective communication with team members and management. This position is essential for ensuring that logistical operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of NRC's humanitarian efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Officer will manage all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with NRC and donor policies. This includes collecting and verifying vendor invoices, tracking payments, conducting local market assessments, and supporting tender evaluations. The officer will implement fleet management policies, maintain records for NRC vehicles, prepare movement plans, and report on fleet usage. In warehouse management, the officer will ensure proper documentation, coordinate goods reception and dispatch, and prepare inventory reports. The officer will also manage asset inventory, conduct physical counts, and advise colleagues on asset usage. Furthermore, the officer will provide support for field office activities, including admin stock management and maintenance tasks, while acting as a focal point in the absence of the Field Office Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field, with additional qualifications in Supply Chain Management being preferable. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Logistician in a humanitarian or recovery context is required. Candidates should have documented results related to the responsibilities of the position and demonstrate fluency in both Bangla and English languages. The ideal candidate will have experience working in complex and volatile contexts, showcasing their ability to adapt and perform under challenging conditions.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or an equivalent field. Additional coursework or degrees in Supply Chain Management are considered advantageous. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of logistics and procurement processes within a humanitarian context.

Experience:
The Logistics Officer should have at least 2 years of relevant experience working as a Logistician, particularly in humanitarian or recovery settings. This experience should include managing procurement, fleet, warehouse, and asset management, demonstrating the ability to navigate the challenges associated with logistics in crisis situations. Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is highly valued, as it indicates the candidate's capability to handle the demands of the role effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in Bangla and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders and communities served by NRC.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in Ukhiya, Bangladesh, with a contract duration of 12 months. The role involves approximately 30% travel. The position is classified as Grade 5 in NRC’s Salary Scale, offering a monthly gross salary of 75,716 BDT, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
