Job Overview: The Education Technical Assistant position is designed to provide essential administrative and technical support within the Education Core Competence of NRC. The role involves assisting in the implementation of the Education function portfolio according to established plans and guidelines. The assistant will be responsible for preparing and developing status reports, ensuring proper documentation and filing of relevant materials, and promoting ideas for the improvement of educational functions. The position also requires identifying and reporting protection needs and gaps, as well as exploring new and safer methods to assist vulnerable populations. The Education Technical Assistant will work collaboratively with other education colleagues, local partners, and community stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of planned activities, conduct regular follow-ups, and participate in field visits to monitor project progress. This role is crucial in supporting NRC's mission to enhance educational opportunities for displaced individuals and contribute to their overall well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Education Technical Assistant include: adhering to NRC policies and guidelines; assisting with the implementation of the Education function portfolio; preparing and developing status reports as required; ensuring proper filing and archiving of documents; promoting and sharing ideas for the improvement of educational functions; identifying and reporting protection needs and gaps; conducting regular follow-ups on projects through meetings and discussions; preparing inputs for status and progress reports; conducting field visits and recording minutes and reports; assisting the education team with procurement procedures; carrying out assessment processes and procedures; providing input for continuous improvement; conducting interviews as part of the assessment process; communicating with various stakeholders; and assisting in conducting Better Learning Program Training for local partners.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Education Technical Assistant position include: experience working in a humanitarian or recovery context; previous experience in complex and volatile environments; documented results related to the position's responsibilities; knowledge of Education in Emergencies and Humanitarian contexts; fluency in English and native proficiency in Persian (both written and spoken); proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; a minimum of 6 months of working experience in designing educational activities or related support for children; and a university degree. Additional qualifications include knowledge of the Afghanistan displacement context, previous experience with NGOs/INGOs/UN agencies, and familiarity with the specific needs and obstacles faced by diverse demographic groups such as gender, age, displacement status, and disability.
Educational Background: Candidates for the Education Technical Assistant position are required to have a university degree. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of educational programming and the specific challenges faced by displaced populations.
