The EZ-Trainee program is a capacity-building initiative designed to equip participants with essential management skills and practical experience in the field of development cooperation. The program spans 17 months and includes four practical phases, starting with a one-month preparation period followed by a two-month assignment at the headquarters of the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in Hannover. This is followed by an eight-month deployment in Jordan focusing on integrated groundwater resource management, and concluding with a two-month assignment at an international organization, culminating in a four-month placement at the BMZ. The program aims to provide trainees with a comprehensive understanding of the structures, actors, and functions of development cooperation through on-the-job training.
