Job Overview: The Finance Technical Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization in Libya. This position involves assisting in the management of financial transactions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, and providing technical support to the finance team. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the preparation of financial reports, assist in budget monitoring, and help in the implementation of financial controls. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of financial processes. Additionally, the Finance Technical Assistant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing timely information to support decision-making processes within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines and policies.
Process financial transactions, including payments, reimbursements, and expense claims, in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
Support the finance team in the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist in the implementation of financial controls and procedures to mitigate risks and enhance accountability.
Provide technical support and training to staff on financial policies and procedures.
Collaborate with program teams to ensure financial resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
Participate in audits and assist in the preparation of necessary documentation.
Stay updated on financial regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and improve processes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Arabic.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in finance or accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles is required. Experience working in an international organization or NGO is preferred. Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements in Libya is a plus.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory. Knowledge of French or other languages is considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and based in Tripoli, Libya. The organization is open to recruiting both nationally and internationally. Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with experience and in line with organizational policies.
