This position requires collaboration with senior management and various stakeholders to develop a strategic change management plan that supports the mission of UNDP in eradicating poverty, reducing inequality, and building resilience. The specialist will serve as the project manager for these transformation efforts, ensuring that tasks are prioritized and completed within the defined scope, schedule, quality, and budget constraints. Additionally, the role involves assessing the scope of change, developing a change management strategy, and engaging with stakeholders to minimize resistance and maximize employee engagement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of a Change Management plan and portfolio of business transformation efforts.
Guide senior management in developing a strategic change management plan to enhance the Investigations and Audit sections of OAI.
Serve as the project manager for business transformation efforts, ensuring tasks are identified, prioritized, and completed effectively.
Advise on the refinement of project plans related to transformation efforts, integrating change management activities into the project plan.
Identify change management approaches and methodologies to address the people side of change, minimizing resistance and maximizing engagement.
Assess the scope of change and develop a change management strategy that addresses potential risks and resistance.
Identify resources and stakeholders required for the change management process and facilitate engagement with them.
Clearly communicate key objectives and deliverables to the team, fostering buy-in and collaboration.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, Communications, or a related discipline is required.
Alternatively, a first-level university degree in the mentioned areas combined with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be considered.
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience at the national or international level in change management is required, or nine (9) years with a bachelor’s degree.
Familiarity with project management frameworks in a change management environment is essential.
Experience in formulating and implementing communications strategies in change management setups is required.
Proficiency in using computers and office software packages, along with experience in handling web-based management systems, is required.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Management, or Communications. A first-level university degree in these areas, combined with additional qualifying experience, will also be considered. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of change management and project management within the context of UNDP's operations.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant work experience for candidates with a master’s degree, or nine years for those with a bachelor’s degree. This experience should be progressively responsible and ideally include work at both national and international levels in change management. Familiarity with project management frameworks in a change management environment is essential, as is experience in formulating and implementing communications strategies related to change management.
Languages: Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is required for this position. Knowledge of another UN language is considered an advantage, as it can facilitate communication and collaboration within the diverse international environment of UNDP.
