The mission of CSH is to ensure that the organization attracts, develops, and retains a diverse, skilled, and highly motivated workforce, which is essential for delivering on the FAO's mandate. Established to enhance the effectiveness of human resources within the organization, CSH operates globally, focusing on developing and implementing a people-centered strategy. The division is structured into two main clusters: Integrated Talent Management and HR Strategy and Policy, which work collaboratively to provide strategic HR guidance and policy oversight. The division aims to position HR as a strategic partner in achieving the organization's goals, ensuring that HR practices align with the overall mission of FAO.
Job Overview: The Human Resources Specialist position is critical in supporting the FAO's recruitment and talent management efforts. The role involves engaging with hiring managers to proactively plan recruitment needs, providing expert HR advice, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures throughout the recruitment process. The HR Specialist will be responsible for managing various aspects of talent acquisition, including outreach initiatives to attract diverse candidates and improve workforce representation. Level B responsibilities involve supporting hiring managers in recruitment planning, managing day-to-day recruitment activities, preparing reports, and implementing outreach initiatives. Level C focuses on supporting talent acquisition activities, planning selection processes, and providing HR guidance on recruitment matters. Across all levels, the HR Specialist will participate in selection panels, monitor recruitment processes, and perform other duties as required to ensure effective HR management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree with additional relevant work experience in human resources management, law, social sciences, business management, political science, or a related field. For Level A, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required with a Master’s degree, or 12 years with a Bachelor’s degree. Level B requires 5 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 7 years with a Bachelor’s degree, while Level C requires 1 year with a Master’s degree or 3 years with a Bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of another FAO official language is considered a strong asset.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or a Bachelor’s degree in fields such as human resources management, law, social sciences, business management, political science, or international relations. Additional qualifications, such as a degree or certificate in Human Resource Management, are considered strong assets and may enhance a candidate's profile.
