Job Overview:
The National Professional Officer (Finance) position is crucial for the effective and efficient provision of administrative support in the area of finance within the FAO Shared Services Centre located in Budapest, Hungary. This role involves coordinating and supervising the activities of an operational team responsible for banking, accounts payable, assets, and bank reconciliation. The officer will ensure that results are delivered within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and will respond effectively to clients to optimize service delivery. The position requires the creation and maintenance of Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) in the relevant areas and involves exchanging information with internal and external partners, including banks and donors. The officer will also monitor team performance, prepare and analyze financial records, and support various projects assigned by SSC Management and the Finance Officer. Additionally, the role includes contributing to process improvement initiatives and developing training materials to promote best practices and capacity development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National Professional Officer (Finance) include:
  • Coordinating and supervising the operational team’s activities in banking, accounts payable, assets, and bank reconciliation.
  • Ensuring the delivery of results within established SLAs and providing effective responses to clients.
  • Creating and maintaining Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs) in the relevant financial areas.
  • Exchanging and providing information to internal and external partners, including banks and auditors.
  • Monitoring team performance and reviewing reports.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and evaluating financial records to provide inputs for operational improvement.
  • Supporting projects assigned by SSC Management and monitoring progress.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives and gathering requirements for process enhancements.

  • Performing other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be nationals of Hungary and possess an advanced university degree in a field related to business or public administration. They should have at least one year of relevant experience in office management, administration, accounting, audit, budget, or finance. Proficiency in English and Hungarian at level C is required, along with competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in business or public administration. This level of education is essential to ensure that the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform effectively in the finance role within the FAO.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of one year of relevant experience in areas such as office management, administration, accounting, audit, budget, or finance. Languages:
