Job Overview:
The Fishery Officer (Aquaculture National Planning and Development) plays a crucial role in supporting the preparation and implementation of aquaculture strategies, policies, and programs that align with countries' economic, social, and environmental objectives. This position is integral to maximizing aquaculture's contribution to food security, nutrition, and health while adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Duties and Responsibilities:
The Fishery Officer will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and providing access to data related to fisheries and aquaculture. The officer will also provide technical backstopping to field projects, participate in the development of analytical tools and methodologies, and collaborate with other divisions and stakeholders. Additionally, a minimum of five years of relevant experience in aquaculture project planning and development, governance, and feasibility analysis is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in English and have intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree is required, specifically in fields related to aquaculture, public policy, economics, or aquatic sciences. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of aquaculture governance and development.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least five years of relevant experience in the planning and development of aquaculture projects, including governance frameworks and public-private partnerships. Experience in conducting feasibility studies and analyzing national aquaculture policies is also necessary.
