Duties and Responsibilities: The Safeguards Information Analyst (DPRK) will conduct detailed analyses of safeguards-relevant information regarding the DPRK nuclear program. This includes defining problems, acquiring relevant data, applying appropriate analytical methodologies, and documenting results in formal reports. The analyst will support the development of plans and procedures to enhance the Agency's readiness for verification and monitoring activities in the DPRK, while also maintaining awareness of the evolving situation in the region. Responsibilities include reviewing open-source information, collaborating with other analysts, contributing to the State evaluation process for the DPRK, drafting reports and notes on the nuclear program, and developing training programs for the DPRK Team and inspectors.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in a relevant field such as physics, chemistry, or engineering, or a Bachelor's Degree with additional experience. A minimum of 7 years of experience in nuclear non-proliferation, safeguards information analysis, or nuclear research is required. Applicants should have experience in writing and editing analytical reports, contributing to training programs, and engaging with stakeholders. Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of other IAEA official languages, particularly Korean, is considered an asset.
Educational Background: The position requires an advanced university degree (Master's) in sciences, technology, or fields relevant to international relations and non-proliferation studies. A Bachelor's degree may be accepted if accompanied by two additional years of relevant experience. This educational background ensures that candidates have the necessary technical knowledge and analytical skills to perform effectively in the role.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 7 years of relevant experience in nuclear non-proliferation or safeguards information analysis.
