Job Overview: The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the operations and communications of the Net Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA), which is committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 205
The NZBA, convened by UNEP FI, comprises over 130 banks representing USD 56 trillion in assets. The consultant will assist in organizing governance meetings, managing stakeholder communications, and enhancing member engagement. This role requires a proactive approach to improve service delivery and support for NZBA members, ensuring effective coordination and communication across various platforms. The consultant will also be responsible for creating and managing content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels, thereby contributing to the overall mission of promoting sustainable finance and climate action.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's duties will include organizing monthly Steering Group calls, quarterly membership calls, and other governance meetings. They will track action items from these meetings and assist in onboarding new members. The consultant will draft presentation materials for various meetings and webinars, manage communications workflows, and update membership pages. They will also monitor media coverage and manage member contact data. The expected outputs include improved stakeholder management, enhanced internal and external coordination, and effective communication materials. The consultant will report to the NZBA Secretariat Lead and work closely with the Operations Coordinator and Communications Lead to ensure the successful execution of tasks.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in economics, business, management, sustainability, climate, communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. A minimum of two years of professional experience in operations, administration, communications, PR, or marketing is required. Experience working with financial institutions and using Microsoft Office is essential. Familiarity with online meeting platforms, content management systems, and social media tools is desirable. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are crucial for this role.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, business, management, sustainability, climate, communications, marketing, public relations, or international relations is required. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of sustainable finance and environmental governance.
Experience: The position requires at least two years of relevant professional experience in operations, administration, or communications. Experience working with multiple stakeholders, particularly in the financial sector, is highly desirable. Familiarity with various software and online platforms is also important for the successful execution of the role's responsibilities.
Languages: English is the primary working language of UNEP FI, and proficiency in other United Nations languages is considered an asset. Strong oral and written communication skills in English are essential for effective engagement with stakeholders and the production of high-quality communication materials.
Additional Notes: The consultant position is expected to last for 8 months and will be conducted remotely.
