Job Overview: The position of International Consultant Green Investment Expert and Coordination is designed to provide essential coordination and technical support for the ASEAN Green Investment Catalyst (AGIC) project. This project is pivotal in supporting the implementation of the ASEAN Regional Investment Promotion Action Plan (RIPAP), which aims to enhance institutional capacity and project offerings of investment promotion agencies at both regional and national levels. The consultant will play a crucial role in attracting investments in green transition sectors, thereby contributing to sustainable development objectives. The consultant will be expected to strengthen investment promotion frameworks, facilitate green investments, and integrate gender-responsive investment strategies into the overall investment promotion efforts. This role requires a deep understanding of green investment principles and practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the International Consultant Green Investment Expert and Coordination include but are not limited to:
Providing expert advice and technical support to the AGIC project team in the development and implementation of investment promotion strategies focused on green investments.
Coordinating with national and regional investment promotion agencies to enhance their capacity to attract green investments.
Facilitating workshops and training sessions for stakeholders to promote understanding and implementation of green investment practices.
Conducting research and analysis on best practices in green investment promotion and providing recommendations for improvement.
Developing and maintaining partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector actors, and civil society organizations.
Monitoring and evaluating the progress of the AGIC project, ensuring alignment with sustainable development objectives.
Preparing reports and presentations to communicate project outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include:
A proven track record of expertise in green investment, sustainable development, and investment promotion.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in project management and coordination, particularly in international development contexts.
Familiarity with gender-responsive investment strategies and their integration into investment promotion frameworks.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a relevant advanced degree in fields such as economics, environmental science, sustainable development, or a related discipline. A PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant area will be considered an asset.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in green investment, investment promotion, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or private sector entities in the Asia-Pacific region is highly desirable. Proven experience in managing complex projects and working in multi-stakeholder environments is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the Asia-Pacific region would be considered an advantage, particularly languages spoken in ASEAN member states.
