Job Overview: The internship program at the IAEA is designed to provide students with practical work experience that aligns with their academic studies or interests. Interns will have the opportunity to engage with the work of the IAEA and the broader United Nations system. Duties and Responsibilities: Interns will be responsible for meeting clients and providing guidance on respective focal points within the HR department. They will respond to inquiries and requests for guidance on various HR matters. Additionally, interns will contribute to the client-facing help desk and assist with administrative tasks, including document production and the collection of training data. They will conduct background research on HR-related topics, which may involve reviewing academic research papers and best practices from both the private and public sectors, as well as policies from other international organizations. Interns will also support the development of promotional and outreach materials, coordinate activities and events to enhance awareness of HR areas, and prepare and edit drafts of HR reports, guidelines, briefing notes, and presentations. Furthermore, they will analyze and report on HR data and Key Performance Indicators as required, and support other HR activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in fields such as Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Sciences, International Relations, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Experience in drafting documents and reports in English is essential, and knowledge of human resources-related work in international organizations or client-service skills is highly desirable. Proficiency in using Windows and MS Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Teams, is also required.
Educational Background: Applicants must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards their first degree. Candidates may apply up to one year after completing a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. It is important to note that candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship program.
Experience: While specific prior experience is not mandated, familiarity with drafting documents and reports in English is crucial. Experience in human resources-related work, particularly within international organizations, is considered an asset. Candidates should demonstrate strong client-service skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
