Job Overview: The Partnerships Consultant position at UNICEF Kazakhstan is designed to ensure effective implementation of the UNICEF Country Programme Document. The consultant will play a crucial role in increasing UNICEF's visibility and building effective partnerships with the private sector. Under the guidance of the Partnerships Officer and in close cooperation with the Communications Specialist, the consultant will be responsible for designing and implementing campaigns and events aimed at mobilizing new partners. This role requires innovative communication and fundraising solutions to support UNICEF's Partnerships and Resource Mobilization Strategy. The consultant will work on various initiatives, including organizing high-level events, facilitating communication with businesses, and creating strategic partnerships to enhance UNICEF's impact in Kazakhstan.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will be responsible for leading the organization of high-level events in collaboration with partners and businesses to promote awareness about child rights and increase UNICEF's visibility. Specific duties include organizing at least five events with different companies in Astana, preparing and supporting meetings of the Business Advisory Council (at least three meetings), and nurturing relationships with at least two private sector donors to build partnerships by the end of the contract. The consultant will also identify and pursue opportunities for engagement and collaboration with the private sector, aiming to establish at least five strategic partnerships. Additionally, the consultant will prepare presentations on UNICEF's value proposition and develop at least ten proposals for potential partnerships, focusing on family-friendly policies and securing at least three new partnerships with the corporate sector. Other assignments may arise based on the needs of the office and the changing funding environment.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in marketing, Public Relations, International Relations, Management, or a related field. They should have at least five years of progressive experience in event management, public relations, marketing, project management, and partnership development. Experience in organizing charity events is considered a strong asset. Candidates must demonstrate fluency in written and spoken Russian, with a working knowledge of English being required. Highly developed communication and partnership skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and respond to feedback in a timely and professional manner. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to contribute to a team are also necessary. Experience working with sponsors and influencers, as well as experience with communications campaigns across multiple mediums, is preferred. Prior experience with a UN agency is an asset.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as marketing, Public Relations, International Relations, or Management is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of partnership development and event management within the context of UNICEF's mission.

The role is office-based in Astana and is a full-time position. Candidates must complete mandatory UN/UNICEF trainings upon commencement of the contract. Consultants will not be considered staff members and will not be entitled to benefits provided to staff, such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage. They are responsible for their tax liabilities and must ensure that their visa and health insurance are valid for the entire contract period. Selected candidates must confirm their fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19 with a WHO-endorsed vaccine prior to starting the assignment, although this requirement does not apply to remote consultants.
