Duties and Responsibilities: As a Data Science and Analytics Intern, you will be responsible for a range of tasks aimed at enhancing the analytical capabilities of the Safeguards Division. Your duties will include:
Building rapid prototypes and proof of concepts to assess their fit and usability in real-world applications.
Continuously improving machine learning models, focusing on areas such as text classification, information retrieval, and named entity extraction.
Interacting with business users to define project scope and business cases, ensuring that analytical solutions meet user needs.
Developing and applying advanced technologies, including machine learning and deep learning algorithms, to enhance product functionality.
Identifying valuable data sources and automating data collection processes to streamline analytical workflows.
Collaborating with team members to support the overall mission of the IAEA in safeguarding nuclear materials.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for the Data Science and Analytics Intern position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A university degree in mathematics, computer science, or a related field, with a strong focus on data science or artificial intelligence.
Experience with machine learning methodologies, including both supervised and unsupervised learning, as well as deep learning techniques.
A solid understanding of large language model concepts and their applications.
Familiarity with popular machine learning libraries and frameworks, such as PyTorch and Hugging Face, is highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
