Job Overview:

Interns will engage in the production of news articles, multimedia content, and feature stories, all in French. The internship is full-time, requiring a commitment of five days a week for a minimum of two months, with the possibility of extending up to six months based on departmental needs. Interns will work under the supervision of the Chief of the French Unit and will be expected to contribute actively to the production of daily news and features.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for drafting French news articles by integrating and translating information from various sources, including reports, press releases, and official statements. They will proofread articles before and after publication, assist with fact-checking and background research, and help produce graphic, visual, and audio content. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to work on feature stories, conduct research and interviews, and review the partnerships database in collaboration with the UN Partnerships Unit. Other duties may include outreach and any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies. Alternatively, applicants may be in their final year of a first university degree program in the same fields. Candidates should be computer literate, particularly in standard word processing and spreadsheet applications, and demonstrate a keen interest in the work of the United Nations. They should also possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have completed or be enrolled in a relevant academic program, such as a graduate degree in communication, journalism, international relations, public administration, English, or translation studies.
