Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a range of tasks that support the Public Information Office's objectives. Key duties include: - Developing engaging social media content that aligns with the UN's mission and values. - Producing videos, infographics, and other visual materials to enhance communication efforts. - Writing clear and compelling content for social media platforms, the UN website, and newsletters to inform and engage the public. - Facilitating the translation of texts by liaising with the translation team, ensuring timely requests and receipt of translations. - Taking detailed notes during relevant meetings, including sessions of the Human Rights Council, to assist in documentation and reporting. - Monitoring relevant news and circulating daily press clippings to keep the team informed of current events and developments.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent). While professional work experience is not required for this internship, a field of study closely related to the internship is essential. Candidates must be students in their final year of a bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. program or have completed such programs. Additionally, experience in drafting news articles and social media posts in English is desirable, as well as experience in designing social media posts and creating short videos or animations using relevant software.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this internship includes being a student in the final year of a first university degree program (bachelor's or equivalent), or being enrolled in or having completed a master's or Ph.D. program. Candidates must demonstrate a strong academic foundation in fields related to public information, communications, media studies, or international relations, which will support their ability to contribute effectively to the internship role.
