Job Overview: The Humanitarian Mine Action Officer (NTS Trainer) position is crucial for the development and delivery of training programs related to Non-Technical Survey (NTS) and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE). The successful candidate will work closely with the NTS/EORE Coordinator to create effective training materials that incorporate adult learning principles and participatory methodologies. This role involves not only the development of training programs but also the execution of Training of Trainers (TOT) initiatives aimed at DRC staff, partners, and external stakeholders. The officer will be responsible for delivering both initial and refresher training courses, ensuring that all training aligns with established curricula and meets the learning objectives. Additionally, the officer will provide technical support and innovation in training initiatives, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of sector developments and training innovations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Humanitarian Mine Action Officer (NTS Trainer) include:
Training Development and Delivery: - Provide technical input and assistance to the NTS/EORE Coordinator in developing training materials. - Suggest ways to integrate adult learning principles and participatory methodologies into training materials. - Support the NTS/EORE Coordinator with practical exercises and scenarios that reinforce learning objectives. - Implement approved training materials through structured training programs. - Conduct Training of Trainers (TOT) programs for DRC staff, partners, and external stakeholders. - Deliver initial and refresher NTS training courses.
Technical Support and Innovation: - Assist Area Technical Field Managers in executing local training initiatives. - Coordinate with the NTS/EORE Coordinator and Training Manager on training priorities. - Maintain knowledge of NTS sector developments and training innovations.
Documentation and Reporting: - Maintain comprehensive records of training implementation. - Track training completion and participant progress. - Prepare training reports and attendance records. - Document lessons learned from training delivery. - Manage training materials and resources archive. - Ensure proper version control of training materials.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the position of Humanitarian Mine Action Officer (NTS Trainer), candidates must possess the following qualifications: - A university degree in Education, Adult Learning, or a related field, or equivalent field experience. - Advanced certification in training or instructional design is preferred. - A proven track record in curriculum development and adult education is advantageous. - A formal certificate of NTS Training is required. - Candidates must either hold or achieve the DRC Train the Trainer Certification within the first three months of appointment. - Comprehensive knowledge of training management systems and instructional design is essential. - A strong understanding of adult learning principles and methodologies is necessary. - Excellent presentation and facilitation skills are required. - Expertise in delivering training materials and resources is expected. - Knowledge of IMAS and NTS principles is important. - Strong English language skills are an advantage. - Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office package is required.
