Job Overview:
The Caseworker position is designed to provide trauma-informed services to refugees and other qualified immigrants, ensuring a positive resettlement experience and facilitating client self-sufficiency. The Caseworker will engage closely with clients, colleagues, and external partners to create tailored service and self-sufficiency plans that align with individual client needs and preferences. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of various services and resources, including financial, medical, social, and vocational support, while adhering to client eligibility and program requirements. The Caseworker will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their new environment and access essential services, ultimately contributing to their successful integration into society.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Caseworker's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to: coordinating timely pre- and post-arrival services to ensure clients have access to essential living needs such as housing, food, medical care, and transportation; conducting intake assessments to evaluate client needs; developing individualized self-sufficiency plans and timelines in collaboration with clients; providing direct support through services, referrals, and advocacy; monitoring client progress towards established goals and addressing any challenges that arise; documenting client interactions in compliance with program requirements; inputting client data into relevant databases and assisting with tracking and reporting; collaborating with coworkers and partner organizations; building and maintaining relationships with local service providers; utilizing personal transportation to assist clients as needed; potentially training and leading volunteers and interns; and performing other assigned duties as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Caseworker position should possess a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field, although relevant professional experience in the human services sector is also highly valued. A minimum of two years of experience in a similar role is strongly preferred, particularly with refugee and immigrant populations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, diplomacy, and networking abilities, along with effective communication skills in a multicultural environment. A self-starter mentality, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively are essential. Attention to detail and accuracy in work output are also critical.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field of study. This educational background is preferred as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of social services and the specific needs of refugees and immigrants.

Experience:
The position requires relevant professional experience in the human services field, with a minimum of two years strongly preferred. Languages:

Compensation for this role is based on various factors, including labor market conditions, job type, internal equity, and budget considerations.
