Job Overview: The NTDs Associate position at CHAI is designed for a highly motivated individual who will implement intensified activities aimed at improving the quality and timeliness of data related to Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). The Associate will work closely with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the National Program for NTDs in Senegal, focusing on enhancing data accessibility and analytics for decision-making and planning. The role involves supporting the scale-up of digitized mass drug administration (MDA) campaigns and strengthening national reporting systems. The successful candidate will need to possess strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, and will be responsible for driving implementation independently while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The NTDs Associate will have a range of responsibilities, including identifying opportunities for data use and the scale-up of digitized national campaigns, exploring analysis tools for decision-making, and assessing the feasibility of implementing solutions. They will gather operational requirements, define needs and gaps in campaign operations, and customize campaign tools for Senegal. The Associate will promote integrated campaign tools, conduct routine monitoring and evaluation of the NTDs program, and develop a sustainability plan for long-term data platform maintenance. Additionally, they will provide day-to-day program management support, assist the Program Manager in shaping CHAI’s NTDs strategy, coordinate meetings, and facilitate knowledge sharing among stakeholders. The role also includes synthesizing findings into high-quality presentations and reports, and building strong relationships with government and partner organizations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business management, public health, policy, or science, along with at least 3 years of relevant work experience in a demanding, results-driven environment, preferably in public health or data informatics. Exceptional problem-solving skills, analytical capabilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required, along with experience in data management and analysis. The ability to remain effective and calm in high-pressure situations, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize competing timelines is crucial. Fluency in French is mandatory, with a good command of English being advantageous.
