Job Overview: The Technical Student Programme at CERN offers students the opportunity to gain practical training in fields related to Material and Surface Science or Chemical Engineering. This unique internship allows students to work at the forefront of technology, engaging in various activities such as mechanical testing of materials, magnetic measurements, metallography, surface treatment, optical and electronic microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and radiochemistry. However, it is important to note that students specializing in theoretical or experimental particle physics are not eligible for this program.
Duties and Responsibilities: As a participant in the Technical Student Programme, you will be expected to engage in hands-on research and development activities that align with your field of study. You will also be responsible for documenting your findings and presenting your work to your peers and supervisors. Required Qualifications: To qualify for the Technical Student Programme, candidates must be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. Additionally, applicants must have completed at least 18 months or 3 semesters of their undergraduate studies by the time of the next student selection round in May 202
It is also required that candidates remain registered as full-time students during the internship period. A good command of English or French is essential for effective communication within the organization.

Participants will also benefit from CERN's comprehensive Health Insurance scheme, with contributions automatically deducted from their allowance. Students are entitled to 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
