Job Overview:
The Public Information Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the social media strategy of the Department of Global Communications. This position involves specialized assistance in producing and delivering information communications products, particularly focused on social media. The incumbent will be responsible for researching and compiling information from various sources to create engaging content tailored for target audiences. The role also includes organizing special events and social media activations, managing social media content, and ensuring the effective dissemination of information across UN platforms. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Public Information Assistant include providing specialized assistance in the production and delivery of information communications products, including editing and promoting social media assets. The assistant will research a wide range of information sources to compile content for social media communications, organize and execute special events, and coordinate with partners to publicize key campaigns. Responsibilities also include overseeing the distribution of social media materials, managing content, and ensuring the preservation of historical social media materials. Required Qualifications:

This experience is reduced to five years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher. Specialized experience in producing, editing, and promoting social media content in Kiswahili is essential, along with experience in managing a global social media presence and researching content for target audiences in an international context.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent. However, candidates with a first-level university degree or higher will have a reduced experience requirement, indicating that higher education is valued and may enhance a candidate's eligibility.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of relevant experience in public communication or international broadcasting. This requirement is reduced to five years for candidates with a first-level university degree or higher. Candidates should have experience in producing and managing social media content, particularly in Kiswahili, and should be familiar with the dynamics of social media in an international setting.

Languages:
