Job Overview:
The Chauffeur position at UNFPA involves providing reliable and safe driving services for office officials and visitors, as well as maintaining the assigned vehicle. The role requires the chauffeur to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, perform minor repairs, and manage the distribution of mail and administrative documents. The chauffeur will work under the general supervision of the Representative and direct supervision of the Operations Assistant, contributing to the smooth operation of the office by ensuring timely and safe transportation and effective communication with staff and partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chauffeur will be responsible for driving the assigned vehicle for office errands and field missions, ensuring the safe transport of officials, visitors, and authorized partners. The chauffeur must maintain discretion, integrity, and a sense of responsibility while adhering to protocol and safety measures. Responsibilities also include monitoring the vehicle's condition, ensuring all necessary documents are available, and performing routine maintenance and minor repairs. The chauffeur will handle the distribution of mail and administrative documents, manage office payments, and assist with other tasks as assigned by UNFPA management. Collaboration with various stakeholders, including UNFPA country office management, program staff, and implementation partners, is essential for success in this role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of a CEPE or CFEPD diploma and a valid category B driver's license. Knowledge of protocol and courtesy measures is essential, along with at least two years of relevant professional experience as a chauffeur. Candidates should be physically fit, possess good moral character, and have a solid geographical knowledge of Niger. The ability to perform minor automotive repairs is required, and experience in similar roles within international organizations or the UN system is an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate integrity, commitment to UNFPA values, and openness to cultural diversity and change.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes at least a CEPE or CFEPD diploma, which signifies the completion of primary education. Additionally, candidates must hold a valid driver's license of category B, allowing them to operate the assigned vehicle legally and safely.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a chauffeur role, preferably within an international organization. Candidates should have a proven track record of good conduct and reliability in their previous positions. Experience working within the UN system is considered an asset, as it demonstrates familiarity with the organization's standards and expectations.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of local languages and English is considered an asset, as it enhances communication with diverse stakeholders and facilitates interactions in various contexts.
